Manasquan’s Algonquin Arts recently received a grant of $7,500 from The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey to support “Page and Stage,” a literacy and cultural enrichment project for Head Start programs
in Abbott school districts.
The grant supports expansion of the Neptune Township Head Start Program to include 210 children who will participate in pre-performance workshops and attend live performances of classic children’s books
at the Algonquin Theatre.
This grant is part of the foundation’s first round of grants for 2009, totaling $516,625.
The foundation supports charitable organizations that promote health and the arts throughout New Jersey.
“We congratulate the 23 organizations receiving grants, and are proud of the way each in its own distinct manner contributes to the special quality of life in our state,” said William J. Marino, Chairman
of the Board of Directors of The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey.
