Manasquan, NJ - Algonquin Arts will continue its tradition of
offering a musical production this summer that will feature local and
regional talent. This year’s selection is Rent directed and
produced by New Jersey Youth Theatre in collaboration with NJPAC and
Algonquin Arts, the presenters of the production. Auditions for
Rent will be held on Saturday, April 3rd at 1 pm on the Algonquin stage
or Saturday, April 10th at 1 pm in the Victoria Lobby at NJPAC, 1 Center
Street in Newark.
To better prepare individuals who intend to audition, the director of
the performance, Cynthia Meryl, will be hosting a pre-audition workshop
on Saturday, February 27th from 1 pm to 3 pm at Algonquin Arts, 173 Main
Street in Manasquan. This workshop is free and space is limited to
thirty students interested in auditioning for Rent, which will be
performed the summer of 2010.
Anyone attending the workshop or initial audition must be between the
ages of 16-23 and must prepare a song from the show. A pianist
will be provided at the workshop auditions.
