Manasquan, NJ - Algonquin Arts will be featuring the ever-popular Allegro! Chorus in their holiday show, The Wonderful World of Christmas: Holiday Melodies & Sugarplum Dreams on Sunday, December 14, 2008 at 3 pm. Under the brilliant direction of Marcello Velame, Allegro! returns for the fifth season as Algonquin Arts� resident chorus accompanied by the Allegro! Orchestra. Well known for a diversity of repertoire and for a clear, warm blend of sounds that resonates with audiences long after the concert, Allegro! celebrates the holidays with seasonal music of yesteryear and today. The Wonderful World of Christmas is a performance that will remind people of all ages about the joy and spirit of the holiday season.

Allegro! has quickly become one of New Jersey's most popular choral groups, enabling Algonquin Arts to expand its mission to bring the pleasures and powers of the performing arts and education to a diverse Jersey Shore audience. Established in 2004, Allegro! has performed to sold-out audiences at Algonquin Arts Theatre, its home base in downtown Manasquan as well as off-site concerts at other prestigious venues throughout the State. Allegro! believes in living its mission "To provide the community with an enriched educational opportunity through the study and performances of choral music; to grow and develop steadily as an organization important to the cultural experiences of the region; and to present diverse and engaging choral experiences of exceptional quality and musicality for audiences and performers alike."

The 30-member chorus has drawn vocalists from ten towns throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties. Rehearsals in Manasquan are on Monday nights from September through May. Auditions are held semi-annually. For more audition information, please contact the Algonquin Arts box office at 732-528-9211.

Tickets to see Allegro! perform The Wonderful World of Christmas: Holiday Melodies & Sugarplum Dreams live at Algonquin Arts are $30 for adults and $28 for seniors and students.
