MANASQUAN, N.J. (Oct. 23, 2012) Algonquin Arts Theatre will create holiday magic for young and old alike at "A Very Merry Broadway Brunch" on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012 at 11 a.m. at The Mill at Spring Lake Heights.
Broadway Stars Bart Shatto ("Les Miserables," "Cats" and "The Civil War") and Deborah Dutcher ("Phantom of the Opera" and "Les Miserables") headline the event but only until the spotlight is stolen by Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and their elves. The cast of Shore Repertory Theatre Company's production of "Scrooge! The Musical" will be caroling.
Adults can take chances on festive raffles and decorated trees designed and sponsored by local businesses. There will be crafts and photo opportunities with the Clauses for the children. And of course all attending can enjoy The Mill's delicious brunch complete with omelets made to order, a carving station and decadent desserts.
Tickets for adults are $75 and children 10 and under are $25. Tickets can be purchased online at algonquinarts.org, by calling 732-528-9211 or stopping by the Box Office at 173 Main Street in Manasquan from 12-6 p.m. on weekdays and 12-4 on Saturdays.
A limited number of seats are available for the event so early reservation is encouraged.
"A Very Merry Broadway Brunch" is chaired by Christine Kornberg of Freehold and Carrie McGowan of Brick. The presenting sponsor of the brunch is The Learning Experience in Wall and Manalapan. Other sponsors include PNC, Pat Anderson, Rita Morgan, Friends of Algonquin, InvestorsBank of Spring Lake & Point Pleasant and the FOP Lodge # 30 General Fund.
Sponsorships are available ranging from $150 to $750 dollars and businesses are needed to sponsor items for the Christmas tree raffle. Contact Teresa Staub at 732-528-4336 for sponsor information.
Brunch ticket holders are eligible for discounted tickets to "Scrooge! The Musical," which runs for seven performances from Dec. 1 to Dec. 9.
All proceeds from the event benefit Algonquin Arts Theatre, founded in 1992 as a nonprofit organization to provide cultural enrichment and educational enhancement of the highest quality for Central New Jersey residents.
