On Friday, October 17, 2008, Algonquin Arts in Manasquan will be featuring The Official Blues Brothers Revival, a live concert that pays homage to the original Blues Brothers movie with characters Jake and Elwood Blues performing blues, gospel, and traditional soul music.

The Blues Brothers Revival theatrical ran through the Spring and Summer of 2004 at the Chicago Center for the Performing Arts. The musical captured the spirit of the original Blues Brothers movie and showcased Chicago's rich history while throwing Jake and Elwood Blues into the mix. This is where the Blues Brothers Revival began, and the show has since taken on a life of its own.

This current live stage concert combines the hits from the original movie as well as the five popular albums put out by John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. The concert is sanctioned by the John Belushi Estate and Judy Belushi Pisano. The Official Blues Brothers Revival band is composed of stellar musicians playing classic Blues Brothers songs including Soul Man and a number of American gospel classics and features Wayne Catania as Jake Blues and Kieron Lafferty as Elwood Blues.

The Official Blues Brothers Revival will be at Algonquin Arts on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 8 pm. Tickets are $40 for adults and $38 for seniors and students. Group rates are also available.
