MANASQUAN, N.J. (March 9, 2015) � Manasquan serves as the next 'caladh nua' for Caladh Nua on its 2015 U.S. tour this Saturday a the staggeringly talented Irish band takes the Algonquin stage at 8 p.m.

The band's Gaelic name means �a new or safe port,� and its five musicians capture the essential qualities of traditional Irish music with their own innovative, contemporary flair. From banjo to fiddle, guitar to bodhran and tin whistle to button accordion, Caladh Nua is a tightly-knit ensemble deeply rooted in Ireland's Southern Counties.

Tickets starting at $39 for adults, $36 for seniors and $29 for students are available online at algonquinarts.org and from the Algonquin Arts Theatre Box Office by calling 732-528-9211. All tickets are subject to a $2 per ticket processing fee.

The concert is sponsored by the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh of the Jersey Shore.

Band members come from West Waterford County as well as Counties Carlow and Kilkenny. In addition to Lisa Butler (lead vocals and fiddle), band members include Derek Morrissey (accordion), Paddy Tutty (lead fiddle, bodhran), Caoimh�n � Fearghail (tin whistle, flute, guitar, uilleann pipes) and Eoin O'Meachair (banjo, whistle).

Through a series of international tours and festivals across the globe, which saw the band take the stage in cities such as Paris, Vienna, Copenhagen, Berlin, Mumbai and Vancouver, Caladh Nua has cast a uniquely captivating net of Irish music and song over an ever widening worldwide audience. They remain in demand on home soil as well, performing for former Irish President Mary McAleese at her residence while in office.

A long list of TV and radio broadcasts of their performances and two acclaimed recordings includes American Public Radio, the BBC, and RTE. Performing a vast repertoire of haunting songs and evocative Irish tunes, Caladh Nua is a young ensemble on the rise.
