MANASQUAN, N.J. (October 25, 2015) Manasquan Bank presented Algonquin Arts Theatre with a $25,000 check this week to sponsor the Main Street theatre's 2015-16 Broadway Series. The Broadway Series began earlier this month with Emmy Award-Winner Sally Struthers and Broadway star Carter Calvert bringing down the house with a wildly entertaining production of "Always... Patsy Cline."
The Broadway Series presented by Manasquan Bank continues with productions of "Miracle on 34th Street the Musical" immediately following Thanksgiving, Neil Simon's "Laughter on the 23rd Floor" in January, Eugene O'Neill's "A Moon for the Misbegotten" in February and Rodgers & Hammerstein's "The King & I" in April. The series closes in May with a production of the witty Tony Award-winning musical "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee."
"Great neighbors make communities thrive, and we are thankful for the continued support of our neighbors here on Main Street," said Algonquin Arts Theatre Managing Director Pamela Ward. "Manasquan Bank's support of our Broadway Series and the theatre's programs across the board allow Algonquin Arts Theatre to continue to bring high quality performances and educational opportunities to Manasquan and the surrounding area."
The 2015-16 season marks the second year in a four year, $100,000 commitment from Manasquan Bank to sponsor the Broadway Series. The funds support the Broadway Series productions as well as the operation of the history 77-year old venue located in downtown Manasquan. Manasquan Bank is the original title sponsor for the theatre's marquee series.
