Brett Colby Appointed Development Coordinator for Algonquin Arts
Manasquan, NJ - Algonquin Arts has appointed a new Development Coordinator, Brett Colby, who will continue to lead the Development Department in a positive direction. Mr. Colbys primary role is to help generate the financial resources necessary for Algonquin Arts to realize its artistic mission.
Mr. Colby, born and raised in Glen Rock, NJ, has resided in Asbury Park for the past six years. Since graduating from Rowan University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music, Brett has toured the United States and Europe, interpreting character roles in the operatic repertory, as well as making appearances in musical theatre, film, and radio.
Since 2007, Brett served as President of The Arts Coalition of Asbury Park (ArtsCAP), transforming the small non-profit into the citys official resource for the arts. He spearheaded the TriCity Arts Tour (an annual arts festival-partnership with Long Branch and Red Bank), and paved the way for city legislation to establish a public art policy for murals and sculpture to transform the citys appearance.
Regarding his appointment as Development Coordinator, Mr. Colby stated, I am truly honored to be joining a team that presents such high quality live entertainment in such a beautiful and historic setting. Despite the current economic climate, I am ready to meet our fundraising challenges head-on and help this landmark theatre to thrive and prosper.
Algonquin Arts Director of Arts & Education, William Whitefield, is enthusiastic about the future of the theatre: We are thrilled that Brett has joined our team here at Algonquin Arts. I have seen how much Asbury Parks art scene has benefited from his hard work and dedication to ArtsCAP, and I know that he will help us find a new level of success here in Manasquan.
Algonquin Arts was founded in 1992 as a nonprofit organization to provide cultural enrichment and educational enhancement of the highest quality for the residents of New Jerseys central region. Programming of Algonquin Arts is made possible as a result of the continued philanthropic support of private citizens and organizations such as New Jersey State Council on the Arts, OceanFirst Foundation, PNC Foundation, Manasquan Savings Bank, Womans Club of Brielle, Investors Savings Bank Charitable Fund, Verizon Foundation, Janice Blanton Plangere & Jules Plangere III, as well as many generous individuals and local businesses.
